We are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to support our current manager team in the of our 450-cover Restaurant
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Management team in the efficient management of Fred & Ivy's Restaurant including kitchen and front of house teams.
To help manage, motivate and develop a team of up to 40 staff to deliver a high standard of food preparation, service and customer care.
Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard as per company policy and current legislation.
Deliver an outstanding service to customers at all times.
Implement and maintain the statutory and company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as necessary.
Assist in ordering supplies, managing stock and controlling wastage.
Help manage staffing including rotas, holidays and absences, ensuring adequate cover at all times.
Help with the hiring and training of new staff.
About You:
Extensive hands-on front and back of house experience in a high quality busy restaurant/catering environment.
A hands-on manager or supervisor looking for the next step in your career, with exceptionally high standards of service and food presentation, willing to operate at the forefront of service.
Experience in a high volume operation.
Staff management, recruitment and training experience.
Excellent interpersonal and management skills to co-ordinate with the kitchen and front of house teams.
Fully conversant with food hygiene regulations, relevant Health and Safety legislation and have appropriate qualifications.
A keen eye for cost-control, budgeting, profitability and efficiency.
Experience of purchasing and stock control.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good computer skills covering email, Word and Excel.
Previous experience as a chef is not necessary, but you must have a passion for food.
Hours:
Full Time, 5 days out of 7.
As the restaurant is open only during Garden Centre hours, there is no requirement to work evenings or split shifts. Hours do vary over the Christmas period.
Due to the nature of the business, the successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach to working hours, especially weekends and Bank Holidays, as these are our busiest times.
