We have an exciting Deputy Manager opportunity in our Cheadle 1 shop.

As the Deputy Shop Manager, you will support a thriving, dynamic and friendly team of staff and volunteers. Our Cheadle 1 shop is a fast paced and well-supported shop in the heart of the Cheadle Community. Day to day you will ensure the shop operations continue to meet the sales targets, by ensuring we promote Gift Aid, good stock management, merchandising and supporting the manager.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Shop Manager in overseeing daily shop operations, including opening and closing procedures Assist in motivating and managing a team of staff and volunteers, creating a welcoming and productive environment Help with sorting, pricing, and displaying donations to maximise sales Provide exceptional customer service and ensure high standards are maintained Take on leadership responsibilities in the Manager's absence Oversee till operations and cash handling accurately and efficiently Maintain a safe, organised, and clean shopping environment

About You

We're looking for an enthusiastic Deputy Manager with a can-do attitude and a commitment to supporting Dougie Mac's mission. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a proactive approach to help the team succeed. Ideally, you'll have:

Previous experience in retail, preferably in a charity or high street shop setting Strong leadership qualities to support and guide volunteers A customer-focused approach and strong communication skills Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and cover shifts, including weekends An eye for detail and creativity to help present the shop attractively

Salary:

25,656 per annum

Hours:

40 hours a week (5 over 6 days)
