We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to come and join our senior nursing leadership team as a full time band 6 Deputy Ward Manager. If you have an interest in frailty, sub acute care and rehabilitation and want to work in a high functioning team to support patients and their families during the most challenging of times, this could be the post for you. We are looking for a skilled nurse to take responsibility for the day to day ward management and provide skilled evidence based nursing care.
We are a sixteen bedded ward. Patients are cared for by all members of the multi-disciplinary team. The Unit is staffed 24/7, and medical support is provided by GPs in the local area.
Successful applicants will be expected to work a variety of shifts over a 7-day period including days and nights and weekends.

This is a full time position.
Main duties of the job
As a Deputy Ward Manager you will be responsible for providing care to people admitted to our ward for rehabilitation, including training and supervision of junior staff. You will be required to manage the ward in the absence of the ward manager on a day to day basis. We work closely as a multi-disciplinary team. Our focus is promoting the comfort and wellbeing of patients, enabling them to live as independently as possible. Wyre Forest ward is a small but friendly team to work with. As a team we encourage ongoing learning and development through reflection and clinical supervision which we try and embed in our daily practice working alongside all members of the MDT as well as patients, their families and carers to provided 24/7 rehabilitation to enable the highest level of independence and quality of life. Our nurses are required to attend meetings as needed such as MDT and CHC or Discharge Planning.
