Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Dermatology Nurse to join our Elective Care Team on a part time basis working 24Hrs per week.



Key Responsibilities





As a Dermatology you will use your clinical experience and skills you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients.



You will assist in the management and organisation of work, as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times and will provide support for junior staff. You will play a key role in the education, development, mentorship and supervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff.



You will undertake nursing interventions consistent with evidence based practice, transferring and applying knowledge and skills to meet patients' needs. Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) and to make referrals as appropriate



To provide support and care for the patient and his/her family respecting their need for privacy and dignity. To monitor the effectiveness of nursing care and adjust the programmes of care where indicated



To utilise highly developed clinical skills specific to speciality. You will practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal framework for nursing



Job Summary





The post holder will be responsible for assessing the care needs, and provision of treatment for patients adult/children attending Dermatology clinics working with minimal supervision.
To assist doctors with minor skin surgery
Perform minor procedures such as Punch biopsies and curettage and cautery.
Assisting in clinics and providing specialised nurse led clinics.
To administer topical therapy and occlusive dressings as prescribed
Support the surgical nurse practitioner/specialist nurses and clinicians with clinics and skin surgery.
Provide efficient and comprehensive general and specialist dermatology services to patients attending the department
Provide treatment and nursing advice to outpatients living with specific dermatological conditions
Educating patients regarding dermatological treatments and sun protection
Assist dermatology doctors
Supervise junior staff
Develop and provide Nurse-Led clinics
Contribute to the development of services
Ensure clinics meet standards required for Care Quality Commission
