Dermatology Specialist Nursing Assistant

Job Description

To support the nursing team in the delivery of specialised dermatological care within the department. Assisting in the running of the clinics on a day to day basis and supporting the clinical practitioner in all aspects of minor surgery.



Be responsible for general administrative duties including photocopying and managing patient data base systems.



This post is a secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service

Support the unit manager in nurse led clinics and Consultants in outpatient clinics and day unit services, these will include: setting up for patch testing, Minor Surgery, Leg ulcer clinic, wound care removal and simple dressings, and chaperoning in Psoriasis & Eczema clinics, Laser services. Undertake a range of clerical duties to support the nursing team including standard keyboard skills, photocopying, filing, faxing, preparation of documentation, archiving notes.

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency ', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
