Role Overview

We are seeking a Design Assurance Engineer to lead and manage a portfolio of complex HV and EHV substation projects. Acting on behalf of the design team, you will provide strategic and technical leadership across all stages of project development -- from HV distribution connections to 132kV transmission-connected schemes. You will review and approve electrical designs to deliver high quality solutions for both contestable and private works.

What Will You Be Doing?

You will be responsible for the design assurance and technical review of key electrical infrastructure elements, including:


Cable route design and cable sizing studies Switchgear and transformer selection/specification CT/VT and battery charger sizing studies Small power and lighting design Control room/switchroom layout design Substation layout design reviews

You'll also ensure that all designs meet:


EP policies Relevant UK legislation and standards DNO/IDNO and Employer's Requirements

You will take full ownership of issuing design deliverables in line with project timelines, while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

What Are We Looking For?

To be successful in this role, you should have:


Experience working for an ICP, DNO, or IDNO Delivery experience on EHV substation projects up to 132kV Strong understanding of UK and DNO processes and specifications Deep knowledge of BSEN and ENA standards Proficiency in AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings * Proven ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams
