Design Engineer

Job Description

Working as part of a busy Design team to meet evolving customer requirements. Tailoring existing product ranges as well as developing bespoke products to a high standard from concept to completion and within specific lead-times.
The role of this Design Engineer will involve using 3D CAD software like Solidworks or similar. We are ideally looking for a minimum of 2 years Cad Design experience, however, we will also consider a graduate engineer if they have some hands-on work experience to demonstrate.

Key Responsibilities and Duties;

  • Work on collaborative projects with Sales Managers and Architects using 3D CAD to engineer solutions.
  • Administrate drawing office procedures such as drawing modifications, product introduction, and document control.
  • Produce clear and concise Engineering drawings and specifications (For composite materials, including aluminium's and other metal fabrications, machined components and sub-assemblies).
  • Design, develop, source and test prototypes before releasing to production.
  • Identify and select materials needed for production and potentially liaise with suppliers.
  • Prepare new product quotations based on standard product ranges.
Knowledge and Experience
Ideally qualified to HNC level in a design or engineering discipline. (Graduates will be considered or experienced Design Engineers / CAD Designers / Product Designers).
Experience with modern materials and knowledge of engineering or manufacturing techniques.
Use and understanding of design software, ideally Solid Works and/or Auto Cad or similar.
Experience in manufacturing/production is highly beneficial.
