Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic, creative & innovative Design Engineer to join our growing team. You will have a proven track record in engineering design, ideally with experience in motorsport, defence, automotive or aerospace sectors.
Are you an experienced design engineer with at least five years' experience (including any study time) and a sharp understanding of the development process, design for manufacture, production process and project management? As a proficient Design Engineer, you will be expected to produce engineering drawings, BOMs and build procedures for production in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail. You will also be involved in the product development process from concept, through prototyping, test and validation to manufacturing.
We require our engineers to be well rounded. We expect a willingness to be involved at all stages of the process, from design, through hands on testing into prototyping and production. We expect our engineers to be able to work autonomously but also play a significant part of a wider team as required.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Management and updating of existing drawings and designs
Produce detailed engineering drawings to the in-house requirements
Produce detailed build procedures through reviews of the design and discussion with manufacturing
BOM development, produce Data sheets and other quality documentation
Design issue analysis and resolution
Product Design and development
Run testing as required, in house and externally, across the range of Lifeline products
Resolve problems and determine root causes
Manage new product introductions to manufacturing
Define and manage safety protocols
Produce technical bulletins
Support homologation processes
Look for efficiencies in the production of goods
Job Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
Experience in product design, development and manufacture
Strong communicator with all levels of the organisation
Problem solving
5 or more years of relevant engineering design experience (inc degree if not all by experience)
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor CAD or similar
Experience of manufacturing procedure writing
Desirable
Experience in Progress Plus (MRP) or similar software
Working understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
