Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering and be proficient in various design tools and methodologies. This role involves the development and optimisation of innovative designs, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and standards. The Design Engineer will play a crucial role in the product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to final implementation.

Responsibilities

Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve design issues effectively. Utilise Simulink for system modelling and simulation to validate design concepts. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to integrate control systems into designs. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precision in designs. Create detailed 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks and CAD software. Develop algorithms and scripts using MATLAB for data analysis and system design tasks. Leverage mechanical knowledge to enhance product functionality and reliability. Interpret schematics to guide the design process and ensure compliance with specifications. Use LabVIEW for data acquisition, instrument control, and automation of testing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of designs into production.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in design engineering, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant projects. Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD, MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, and PLCs is essential. Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in design processes. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis methodologies. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when required. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
