Gowrings Mobility Group are the UK's original manufacturer and supplier of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles. We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our Engineering / Production Team.

The Engineering position is a very integral company position, working with all departments within the business ensuring we design, develop and support a high quality product range.

The role would suit someone with excellent knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks), good knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, awareness of general engineering practices and a basic understanding of automotive Type Approval / Homologation.

Primary Role & Responsibilities

Create & develop new parts and assemblies using 3D CAD (Solidworks) Review current and prototype designs and communicate findings with wider team Control Bills of Materials (BoM), Drawing Registers, Models & Engineering Drawings Work on Engineering projects collaboratively & independently Follow the Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis Process Keep up to date with Engineering trends, legislation and ISO9001 standards Be able to investigate problems & analyse root causes to drive resolutions Be an excellent communicator through all communication channels Have a good understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies Ensure good document control Awareness of H&S best practices and assist in upholding these principles
Salary negotiable depending on experience

Hours 37.5 per week

Holidays 25 + Bank Holidays
