Job overview:



Combining both your creative skills with engineering know-how, the Cad Technician / Design Engineers will be at the forefront of developing innovative ideas for new products. Working closely with the Technical team to understand the requirements of our clients and creating visual documents and diagrams to support the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Computer Aided Design (CAD) capability and experience with...

3D (inventor/SolidWorks etc.) 2D (AutoCAD) PDM system
Machinery experience

Design/development Steelwork Hydraulic Electrical Fault finding Technical files
Engineering degree (Desirable but not essential)

Calculations and excel work Root cause analysis Data analysis
Compliance and documentation

Researching, understanding technical documentation and constructing replies and instructions Toolbox talks Training material
Project management

Leasing with customers and suppliers to manage projects through from design to completion Prioritise to meet deadlines
Practical understanding

How a job is going to be done/RAMS PPM documentation and updating
o Support the development of product within the FBS portfolio.

o Bespoke solutions to satisfy customer needs

o Assembly and SOP information

Responsible for organising and maintaining documentation and technical files.

Become familiar with the relevant standards and legislation to help ensure projects and product solutions comply.

Build and expand on training material and standard operating procedures to upskill the engineering workforce.

Support engineers on site with "out of the ordinary" challenges.

Any other duties as required.

Customers



Ensuring an excellent service delivery is achieved for the creation of drawings for projects, surveys and quotes.

Ensuring designs and drawings are reviewed for amendments before confirmation or issue

Ensuring that proofs are submitted for approval in a timely manner

Ensuring that designs for new products are presented to the Directors in a timely manner

Ensuring changes/recommendations are incorporated prior to issue

Ensuring that you liaise with the Sales team regarding drawings and graphics

Ensuring that you liaise with the manufacturing team regarding products

Ensuring that you research new, innovative ideas turning these into technical plans

KPIs



Projects complete on time to schedule. Assisting with the completion of engineering milestones set out during the development plan. Resolving issues and developing systems in a timely manner. Personal development of product knowledge.

Working Hours:



Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm

Friday 8am-4:30pm

This role is based at our Head Office in Welbourn
