Job Description

KEA Automation, based in Telford, design, manufacture, install and service bespoke automated systems and shell room equipment within the investment castings industry worldwide. We are seeking a Design Engineer with experience of producing 2D & 3D designs using a variety of software within an engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

Work as part of a team to design and develop products and systems in line with industry standards Create models and detailed product drawings using 2D and 3D CAD systems Create detailed, accurate technical drawings, specifications and bills of material in line with customer requirements Find creative and viable design solutions to problems Analyse prototype data to ensure functionality and retest as required Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability Research new product ideas and methods Document design changes and updates as necessary, ensuring files and organised records for each project/customer. Prepare and present informative reports to management as required

Requirements:

Ongoing and continuous right to work within the UK HNC/HND or degree in Design/Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience Proficient in 2D and 3D AutoCAD software -AutoCad 2D, 3D, Inventor and SolidWorks Familiarity, or willingness to learn animation tools 3DS Max or Inventor Animation General understanding of engineering, and a passion and willingness to learn more about it. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and external communication A proactive desire to learn every day, both independently and as part of a small team, to ensure the team's tasks are done effectively and in a timely manner.
