About the Role

We're looking for a

Mechanical Design Engineer

who enjoys being involved in every part of the process, from initial concept to workshop build.

This isn't a remote CAD job or a desk-only role. You'll spend as much time in the

workshop and production area

as you will in front of a computer, working directly with:

Fabricators and fitters to refine and test your designs. Customers, suppliers, and directors to solve practical challenges. Office and workshop teams to ensure every conversion performs perfectly in the field.
You'll design and adapt

vehicle conversions, subframes, canopies, racking, and specialist equipment

, ensuring safety, reliability, and manufacturability.

About You

We're after someone who is:

Based within a reasonable commute of Burnley

- this role requires daily on-site collaboration. A

practical problem-solver

who enjoys getting hands-on to see how designs perform in the real world. Experienced in

SolidWorks

or similar 3D CAD systems. Skilled in turning concepts into manufacturable solutions. Comfortable working closely with others across engineering, production, and management. Ideally with experience in

automotive, fabrication, or mechanical design

(though attitude and ability matter more than industry background).
A degree or HND in Mechanical or Product Design Engineering is an advantage, but equivalent practical experience will be equally valued.
