Are you looking for a Public Sector Design Manager role? Interested in working for one of N.I. largest Public Sector organisations?

VANRATH are recruiting a Design Manager who will play a crucial role in overseeing the design and planning process of construction projects within the Property Projects Department. They will be responsible for ensuring that all design elements are in line with project requirements, regulations, and company / industry standards.

Remuneration:
c\xc2\xa348,000, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).

The Ideal Person
Essential

  • Proven experience as a Construction Design Manager or similar role within a busy design house or contracting background.
  • Building experience is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and materials.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • In depth knowledge of CDM regulations and the various stakeholder responsibilities under these regulations.
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, related field, or degree equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality designs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Support and assist in the management of the integrated design team in developing construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Review architectural and engineering designs to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve design-related issues.
  • Ensure that all designs meet regulatory requirements and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Manage / input into the design process from concept development to final approval.
  • Collaborate with project managers to establish project timelines and budgets.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the design team throughout the construction process.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of design changes and revisions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, value engineering, innovation, and best practices in construction design.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
