About the Role:

CHG is an exciting and rapidly growing business, operating across the water, utilities, manufacturing, and wider industrial sectors. With major frameworks secured for AMP8 and AMP9, this is a pivotal time to join the organisation.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Design Manager to lead and develop our multidisciplinary design function. This is a senior role with genuine autonomy, offering the opportunity to grow the department, shape how it operates, and make it your own, while maintaining both CHG's and our clients' high technical and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage multidisciplinary design delivery across water, utilities, manufacturing, and industrial projects. Develop and grow the design department in line with business growth and secured AMP8 and AMP9 frameworks. Coordinate internal designers and external consultants to deliver high-quality, compliant design outputs. Own and manage design programmes. Ensure all designs meet WIMES, British Standards, and regulatory requirements. Chair and contribute to HAZOP, CDM and constructability reviews. Act as the technical escalation point for design queries and change control. Mentor and develop design staff.
About You:

Degree-qualified in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering discipline. Proven experience managing design delivery in relevant sectors. Strong MEICA and/or civil design knowledge. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams. In-depth knowledge of CDM 2015 and design risk management. Commercially aware with strong communication skills. Full UK driving licence required.
