About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and creative individual who has experience of working in the built environment industry. With an existing architectural or urban design background, they will be looking to develop a wider understanding of the industry and the functioning of an architecture and urban design practice.
Working from our design studio in Greenwich you will be an integral part of our Business Development team responsible for creating written submissions, storytelling, engaging graphics for digital and print media, including social media, website, brochures, and video content, for both internal and external communications. You will also be expected to generate new ideas and design solutions, ensuring quality and consistency of output.
The successful candidate will contribute to a team that drives our new business functions within the practice, from co-ordinating and writing submissions to implementing marketing and PR initiatives.
The role will involve working closely with our senior management team and building strong relationships internally and externally, helping to produce high-quality bid submissions, supporting the delivery of marketing campaigns, coordinating events, PR, e-communications, social media, internal and external comms, and general marketing functions.
The role requires a high level of competency in written communication, a keen eye for detail, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and involves coordinating and working with architectural design groups across the practice.
This is a varied role with plenty of scope to try different things including project work. Reporting to the Director that leads the team, you will be an integral member of the team and need to be able to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
Degree or equivalent level in Architecture or Urban Design with demonstrable industry experience.
A high standard of writing with the ability to communicate convincingly, adapting your style for different types of written content and audiences, including bids.
Knowledge and interest in engaging in current industry trends relevant to the business plan.
Awareness of the architectural / urban design project cycle.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of the RIBA work stages.
Awareness of technical standards, regulatory frameworks and health & safety requirements.
Experience with e-communications and social media.
Strong organisational skills.
Demonstrable experience of using InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Confident and adept with MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Able to work with existing brand guidelines and graphic processes.
Highly proficient in spoken and written English with proofreading and copywriting skills
Desirable
Knowledge of sustainability and social value initiatives.
Experience using WordPress / managing websites.
Experience using Mailchimp.
Knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects.
Knowledge of REVIT and drafting packages.
Experience in creating engaging social media content.
Knowledge of graphic design principles and techniques.
Critical visual eye with the ability to understand and appreciate architectural images and material.
Ability to tailor content and messaging to different audiences.

Salary and benefits
Salary negotiable depending on experience: a gross salary of between 35,000 and 40,000 plus pension and other benefits is anticipated.
