Design Support Engineer - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
This is an exciting opportunity for a Design Support Engineer to join a small, focused team that are committed to the design, construction and operation of quality Electricity Distribution Networks.
ESP are seeking an enthusiastic, analytical and forward-thinking Design Support Engineer to ensure the safe adoption of distribution networks operating up 11kV, ensuring that ESP specifications are met. Reviewing expanding network demand and maintaining a high standard of the asset register is vital to ESPs continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with design, construction and safety standards as appropriate.
Liaison with customers over network design issues to ensure compliance with ESP design and construction policies and standards.
Management of applications for connections on to the upstream operator's network associated with ESP managed networks.
Verification of applications for connections on to the upstream operator's network made by customers associated with asset adoption works.
Manage applications made by other network operator's or customers for connections on to ESP networks including evaluation of any network reinforcement requirements.
Manage the relationship between ESP and all upstream parties for capacity and demand negotiations.
Delivery of CAD designs and drawings where required.
Development of safety and risk assessment requirements required at the design and adoption stages of a project.
Ensuring that the requirements of the ESPUG's Health and Safety Policy are met.
Ensuring that the requirements of the ESPUG's Asset Management System are met.
Participation in reviews and updates of the current operational procedures and technical standards.
Person Specification
Electricity design/analysis experience with the ability to use IT based design software.
Previous experience with Windebut or similar
Excellent verbal & written communications skills across variety of channels. In particular customer communications skill.
Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Numeracy & grammatical skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to work within a team environment.
Strong organisational skills.
Experience of working in a KPI-driven environment or similar.
Water design experience nice to have
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract that will offer a hybrid working model of 2 days a week onsite in our Leatherhead, Surrey office.
