Summary
This is a great opportunity to help drive the future vision of Lloyds Banking Group's Design space, which is made up of multiple parts: 17 million active digital customers, 1,800 branches and 80 million phone calls yearly.
We want to make sure there's a space for all customers to feel financially supported by us: in-branch, online or over the phone.
This means you'll play a vital role in ensuring all design work creates a cohesive overall Lloyds Banking Group experience. One that's consistent for customers, while supporting colleagues too.

About the opportunity
Y ou will be joining a multi-disciplinary central Brand Operating System (Cancara OS) team and responsible for designing and managing styles, components and patterns that make up design system for all LBG brands.
Whether it's contributing to workshops, advising on best practice or responding to research, you should be a design advocate and understand how to apply design principles to make accessible customer experiences.
As a visual designer, you will involvement in the following:
Product:
Help to create, maintain and manage a multi-brand, multi-platform design system.
Work with a multi-disciplinary team to take components and patterns from concept, through design to documentation and code.
Take part in product design reviews from a usability, brand consistency and accessibility perspective.
Advocate and provide support for LBG design libraries to the engineering and design communities.
Help drive design system adoption across the bank.
Team:
Proactively seek opportunities to improve design system workflows and service and oversee other designer's proposals.
Uncover emerging issues and needs. Identify potential causes, related issues, key stakeholders and barriers. Suggest and implement improvements to existing design and business practices.
Coach and mentor designers throughout the organisation. Pursue and invest in opportunities for own personal development.
Brand:
Help evolve the digital brand across platforms and devices.
Champion the customer and ensure LBG products and services meet their needs.
What you'll need
Essential:
Strong understanding of digital accessibility. Good knowledge of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 and aware of any forthcoming changes.
Advanced competency with Figma. You must be able to demonstrate component construction using variants, auto-layout and effectively communicate your process.
Good technical understanding of designing for digital experiences.
An understanding of the culture and issues faced by developers, designers and content writers working in disparate teams.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with other design disciplines, writers, and engineers.
Employ user-centric design methodologies and best practice research.
Desirable:
Real-world experience of maintaining and distributing Figma libraries.
Experience or working on a dedicated design system team.
Although there is no requirement to be able to write code, some understanding of core web technologies (HTML, CSS) and component API design would be beneficial.
