Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be passionate about both print and digital, combine exceptional levels of creativity with proven technical ability, and be able to reflect our brand style.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Lead Designer in working with the Marketing Director and Creative Director on developing the company brand story, look and feel, visually communicating this to our audience, following the marketing plan
Produce Seasonal Campaigns for all platforms as directed by the Design Lead (Social, Email, Print and Advertising)
Work closely with the Design Lead in creating new marketing concepts and visual ideas
Liaise with all departments to produce high quality responses to creative briefs as required
Assist with graphics for in-house product, textile design and packaging designs
Design weekly emails
Create social assets as briefed by Digital Marketing Manager / Social Media Marketing Manager
Person Specification
Good knowledge of, and interest in, retail brands and how they promote themselves
A keen interest in vintage graphics
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage a variety of workloads and responsibilities
Relaxed and adaptable outlook: G&G is not a regimented environment
Good humoured in the face of occasional and inevitable chaos!
A team player
Skills & Experience
3+ years' commercial design experience
Adobe Suite: Mainly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
Digital design: Marketing emails / social / front end website design
Basic animation skills a bonus (Photoshop, AfterEffects etc.)
Print design: Marketing collateral, POS, packaging and other customer facing print design
Retouching skills in Photoshop an advantage
Retail marketing experience
Comfortable sketching out ideas, concepts and thought-processes
Visualising skills to show mock-ups of designs
Illustration skills a bonus
Textile and/or Surface Pattern design experience a bonus
