Job Description

At Transcal, design is at the heart of everything we do. For more than 40 years, we have partnered with prestigious clients to create luxury, bespoke automotive interiors that combine craftsmanship, innovation, and uncompromising quality. We are now looking for a passionate and creative designer to help shape the next generation of exceptional interiors. This will be on a 12 month fixed contract with the potential to extend further.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Design team in day-to-day tasks. Management of specific projects and customer accounts alongside commercial and sales teams. Support with customer sample requests; creating quotations and technical packs for the production team to ensure smooth running of design delivery. General design administration Assist in producing accurate digital artwork for laser, embroidery and print technologies. Research trends, consumer insights, techniques and technologies and competitor benchmarking. To be aware of the current market and insights for next generation range of Transcal products. Design and prepare presentations for the design, sales and marketing teams. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver samples packs/mock ups.

Essential

:

A Design degree preferably in Textiles or Colour & Materials Design Experience with design packages such as Adobe Design - Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign. Illustrator is a must. Organised, detail-orientated and methodical with great planning skills. Confident in collaborating with cross-functional teams and a willingness to learn from others. Ability to think creatively and develop innovative design solutions. Strong visual communication abilities and presentation skills - must be confident in presenting to internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously. Flexible and able to adapt to changing business demands/priorities.

Desirable

2+ years in a similar job role within the textile and design industry. Previous trend analysis experience and passionate about sustainability in textiles. Understanding of constructed textiles. Experience in Design Sales (producing quotations and project coordination) Knowledge of manufacturing processes applicable to bespoke engineered, and upholstered products. Commercial knowledge within Automotive, Aviation and Rail Knowledge or interest in creating client renders
