Desk Tools Engineer - Europe

Company Description:

A leading Global Proprietary Trading firm is seeking a Desk Tools Engineer to join a team of skilled technologists. The role encompasses all aspects of software engineering, including collaborating directly with traders for requirements gathering, as well as design, development, implementation, testing, and production support.

Role Description:

The individual will work within the FICC Options Desk Tools team to design, develop, and support full-stack trading software systems across multiple languages (Python, Java, Rust, Typescript). The role also includes maintaining best-in-class trading tools and providing on-call support as needed.

Qualifications:

A Bachelors or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent work experience A minimum of 2 years' experience using Java or Python, or have demonstrated the ability to learn new languages quickly Experience with network and concurrent programming involving low latency and high message rates Proficiency working in a Linux environment Proficiency in containerization environments, primarily Docker and Kubernetes An understanding of hardware/software interaction An understanding of complex systems and distributed programming Proficiency in data analysis and event processing Can work comfortably in multiple programming languages Excellent written and verbal communication skills
