Desktop Motor Engineer

Job Types: Full Time, Permanent, Remote or hybrid location

Standard Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 08:15 am - 17:15 pm. No weekends or Bank Holidays. Flexible working available. Additional hours available calculated at FTE rate.

Salary: up to 41,025 depending on experience, qualifications, engineering professional memberships and role applied for.

Incident Management Solutions (IMS)

has evolved to become a market leading motor claims Management Company based on the outskirts of Bedford. We are on target to handle in excess of 100,000 claims this coming year and due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a number of Desktop Motor Engineers.

We have developed a bespoke claims management system that makes managing a claim that much easier. Each step of the claim is easy to navigate,

Full comprehensive on-board training will be provided in our Bedford office to ensure that you hit the ground running and embrace the IMS philosophy.

We would like to talk to you if you are looking for a new challenge and have either a motor trade, estimator or vehicle engineering background.

What you'll be doing:

You will be working within our engineering department to accurately assess, value and negotiate accident damaged vehicles using your expertise to ensure vehicle repairs are carried our safely and follow the manufacture repair methods. In addition, you will use a number of industry recognised valuation guides to accurately place the valuation on the vehicle.

What you'll need:

For the Engineer role you will ideally have attained a recognised VDA qualification either with the IMI or manufacturer approved equivalent, or be working towards accreditation with the IAEA (Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors)

Knowledge of the details and methods in motor vehicle accident repair;

Good knowledge of motor vehicle technology and its interaction with vehicle repair;

Previous motor trade experience;

Competence in the use of the GT Motive and Audatex estimating software;

Have a detailed understanding of the categories of motor vehicle salvage;

Excellent oral and written communication;

Good attention to detail;

Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills;

Ability and willingness to learn and develop;
