We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to end-users, ensuring that all desktop environments are functioning effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, operating systems, and customer service skills to assist users with their technical issues in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Provide first-line support for hardware and software issues related to desktops and laptops.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems using tools such as Remedy.
Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory.
Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop operating systems, primarily Windows Server.
Support network connectivity issues and ensure proper functioning of office networking equipment including firewalls.
Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system.
Collaborate with other IT staff to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
Deliver excellent customer service by communicating effectively with users and providing clear instructions.
Experience
Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles is essential.
Familiarity with Remedy or similar ticketing systems is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and practices.
Proficiency in troubleshooting various operating systems, particularly Windows Server environments.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Experience working within an office environment is preferred.
