This role involves providing technical support to staff for desktop computers, applications, and associated technology. Responsibilities include specifying, installing, and testing computer systems and peripherals according to established standards. The position requires interacting with application software and operating systems to diagnose and address unique, non-recurring issues.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Proficient skills in managing IT infrastructure for users, including Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Handhelds, Smartphones, etc.
Knowledge of ticketing tool is a must
Robust technical expertise in Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and business productivity applications such as Office.
Experience in administering MS Active Directory, including managing users, groups, policies, and related concepts.
Firewall management
SCCM
Validating device enrolment in Intune (using read only permissions)
Validating user account in AD (using read only permissions)
Performing OS installs / restores
Troubleshooting basic desk side support issues
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in the field or a related area is mandatory.
Previous experience with Desktops, Workstations, Notebooks, and Printers is essential.
Collaboration skills, including remote PC control and proficiency in video conferencing.
Troubleshooting and supporting PC software/hardware, smartphones, application issues, installations, upgrades, cloud data storage, printing, Microsoft O/S, O365, AV, Teams, Zoom, Cloud platforms, SSO (OKTA) and security.
Onsite - Meeting and supporting our onsite users is an essential part of our service. We utilize remote support tools to support our remote workers and unmanned offices.
Liaising with AY's global service desk MyIT, logging and managing tickets on our Remedy platform and working with your global IT colleagues.
Assisting as necessary with hardware and software upgrades and rollouts
Responsibilities involve ensuring appropriate levels of support for day-to-day operations and providing hands-on assistance for IT infrastructure projects/upgrades, especially in the workstation domain.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Comprehensive understanding of Outlook's calendaring tool.
Knowledge of Exchange functional accounts and their utilization within Microsoft technologies.
Good understanding and experience in troubleshooting & supporting business application platforms.
Successful completion of a background security check is a prerequisite.
Position Responsibilities and Functions
a) Provide first/second level contact and problem resolution for customer issues.
b) Work with Third Party Vendors to remediate complex AV issues as needed
c) Provide timely communication on issue status and resolution.
d) Maintain ticket updates for all reported incidents.
e) Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2010, Cisco Jabber, another authorised desktop application.
f) Should have basic knowledge of Mac operating system, to support Apple pc users.
g) Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for printers, computer hardware.
h) Performs general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, printers.
i) Performs remedial repairs on Desktops, laptops, printers and any other authorised peripheral equipment.
j) Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity, and workstation ,hardware/software.
k) Broad experience of IT with basic understanding of Networks, Servers, Audio/Visual, Smart Devices and Telecoms.
l) This position requires the ability to work in a project-based environment requiring flexibility and teamwork.
Microsoft certification would be desired.
