Job Description

We are looking for someone to work within our busy Despatch Department on a full-time permanent basis. The role will include being the FLT driver in the department having responsibility for loading our DX lorry with customer orders throughout the day. This will be a combination of pallets and manually handballing items onto the lorry. It will also include collating orders, wrapping of pallets, loading/unloading of lorries from suppliers, replenishing stocks in the Despatch department of cardboard boxes, plastic bags, bubble wrap, etc. You will receive training in relation to picking and packing which you would be doing with the rest of your time within the department. The trailer must be loaded before leaving at night.

This is a 43-hour per week post. Work pattern is as follows:

Monday - 07:45-19:45

Tuesday - 08:45-19:45

Wednesday - 10:45-19:45

Thursday - 13:00-19:45

Friday - 13:45-19:45

The successful applicant must hold a valid FLT Counterbalance licence.

Holiday entitlement is calculated on an hourly basis, but will equate to 5.6 weeks (inc. Bank holidays)

Heavy lifting is involved of up to 25kg and some work up and down ladders is required.

Must be able to work on own and as part of a team, using your own initiative.

Follow Health & Safety procedures.
Training provided on loading the paper packing system and dealing with errors/blockages.
