We are seeking an experienced

Despatch Team Leader

to join our Supply Chain team in Wrexham. In this key leadership role, you will manage the daily operations of the Despatch Department, ensuring the timely and accurate shipment of products to customers across the UK and internationally. You will lead a team, coordinate commercial and non-commercial shipments, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Oversee UK and export order processing, ensuring compliance with the Known Consignor Scheme and international trade regulations. Coordinate commercial and non-commercial shipments, including hazardous goods, ensuring all documentation and licences are accurate and complete. Liaise with couriers, customers, QA, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth and compliant despatch operations. Manage despatch planning, temperature-controlled logistics, and documentation through ERP systems. Lead and support a team of 6-8 staff, providing coaching, training, and performance management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, support audits, and maintain despatch facility systems and compliance.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

Previous experience in a similar export/distribution leadership role from a highly regulated industry A natural leader who is proactive and attentive to detail Experience from the pharma industry or dangerous goods would be preferred
