What we are looking for
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on individual to support the Head of Fulfilment in the day-to-day running of our despatch and warehouse operations. This role involves overseeing the despatch team, order fulfilment, managing inventory, and ensuring health and safety standards are met. You'll work closely with other departments to keep things running smoothly and to ensure our award-winning customer experience is maintained at all times.
We're looking for someone with strong communication, solid operational knowledge, and a flexible, problem-solving mindset - especially during busy periods. You must be able to lead, train, motivate and manage the team to consistently maintain high levels of productivity and standards.
Key roles & responsibilities
Support Daily Operations:
Assist the Head of Fulfilment in overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring everything runs efficiently and safely.
Order Fulfilment:
Actively participate in and supervise the
picking and shipping of orders
to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Team Management:
Work closely with the team, providing guidance and support to help them perform their duties effectively. You'll be responsible for managing daily tasks and ensuring completion. You will also work with the Head of Fulfilment to approve staff holidays, monitor sickness absence, and track staff performance.
Resource Allocation Support:
Help plan and organise the allocation of resources to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Inventory Management:
Conduct
cycle counting
and assist with
receiving inventory
accurately and promptly.
Collaboration:
Work effectively with other departments, such as production and customer service, to ensure the warehouse meets business needs and customer expectations.
Health and Safety Adherence:
Be a champion for safety on the warehouse floor, ensuring all health and safety regulations and best practices are strictly followed. You'll ensure your team is compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.
Person Specification
GCSE's grade A-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language.
Computer literate with good experience of MS Office.
Highly motivated and passionate about providing a first-class customer experience to all customers.
Able to work well under pressure during high seasonal demand periods (such as Christmas).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
A good understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse processes.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assist with effective decision-making under pressure.
Adaptability and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including
weekends and rotational hours during peak times
