Job Description

We are looking for a Supervisor to join our busy dessert cafe in the centre of Edinburgh on a part-time or full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting management in maintaining a positive environment and providing an efficient and friendly service, ensuring the highest quality experience for both our customers and team members.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the store in the absence of management, therefore candidates should have previous experience in delegating tasks and managing/supervising a team. Senior supervisors are responsible for opening and closing the store, ordering stock, cashing up, and ensuring all daily tasks have been completed by the team.

Supervisors are also responsible for providing excellent customer service, drink preparation, and food preparation (crepes, waffles, pancakes etc) as well as general day-to-day store maintenance.

Full training will be provided and supervisor experience is essential. Must be available over weekends and willing to work both open and closing shifts (shifts vary from starting at 8am to ending at midnight).

Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation and cooking in the cafe kitchen
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed at all times
- Help with stock management and ordering from suppliers
- Opening / closing the store
- Cashing up procedure at the end of the day
- Delegating tasks and ensuring team morale is high
- Dealing with customer complaints
- Managing the kitchen to ensure orders are out on time

Skills:
- Managing or supervising a team is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills: Ability to provide friendly and efficient service to customers
- Time management: Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills: Ability to handle cash transactions and make accurate change

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Up to 12.70 per hour
