The Role & Responsibilities:
As a Developer you will provide vital support for the Council's websites and internal apps. You will be helping to maintain the growing number of websites and apps that the Digital Team have developed in recent years. In addition, it is expected that you will offer feedback on new projects.
You will support the development, testing, and deployment of digital solutions that align with the Council's enterprise architecture and strategic goals. The Developer will assist the Continuous Innovation Team in delivering user-centred digital services and enhancing the Council's capacity to adapt to changing service needs. This role will contribute to automation and AI initiatives and help reduce reliance on external contractors by developing in-house solution.
Who We Are Looking For
The Developer will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to focus on tasks for long periods. We are also looking for a team player who can develop strong relationships with colleagues in the team and across the Council.
Essential Criteria:
Proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one back-end technology (e.g., Node.js, SharePoint, or similar)
Experience working with one or more CMS' (preferably Contensis) to build commercials websites and applications
Experience or strong understanding of Application Lifecycle Management and processes related to website and application deployment
Experience of, or willingness to learn, the Power Platform or other low-code/ automation systems
Ability to perform basic unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of web applications and internal apps.
