Our Libraries, Museums and Castles attract over 1 million visits each year, supporting local residents and communities to thrive, whilst also playing an important role as part of our growing visitor economy.
Our libraries are vibrant, inclusive and welcoming spaces, across our communities, offering a diverse range of engagement activities, underpinned by an ongoing focus to support literacy, speech and language. We have 12 library sites, and a Home Library Service; but library work increasingly extends beyond our own spaces, connecting services and opportunities with residents who need our support the most.
Likewise, our Museum and Castles provide a brilliantly inclusive and welcoming gateway to the district's diverse heritage, inspiring residents and visitors alike. This service is an established Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation - with an ambitious and high-quality approach to our exhibitions and co-created community projects. They also play a key role as part of our district's wider Heritage Framework and growing network of heritage groups and organisations, connecting and showcasing heritage stories across our communities.
We are looking for an experienced and inclusive leader, with a passion for working with partners and communities, to further extend our positive impact on the lives of residents, business and visitors to our District. If you believe you have the skills, experience and desire to lead these services on this journey we would love to hear from you.
