The Development Office consists of a Development Manager and Development Officer and the department's role is to generate income through fundraising activities and events, membership fees, donations, trusts and statutory grants (inc. local authority grants).
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To build and maintain the venue's Friends scheme and donor database.
To provide superb customer service to Friends, Good friends, Best friends and donors and manage the scheme's administration.
To support the Development Manager in the growth of the department's income streams.
The Development Officer will:
Be the primary contact for Friends Good friends & Best friends; making and answering phone calls and emails and offering first class customer service
Work with the Development Manager and marketing team to encourage new Friends, renewals, and upgrades to Good and Best friends
Ensure the process for the scheme is efficient and timely using our Spektrix software, liaising with the finance team to ensure correct allocation of funds
Manage communications with Friends and Donors on a regular basis, via newsletters/updates
Work closely with the Development Manager to identify Friends with the potential for higher giving or donations
Process regular Gift Aid claims and manage Gift Aid declarations
Ensure Friends and supporters are properly credited and that all benefits are delivered according to each membership
Maintain all data in accordance with GDPR
Maintain Friend and Donor confidentiality outside of the venue
Create and attend membership and donor cultivation events
Host pre- and/or post- show members' events
Support the Development Manager with research for funding applications
Take responsibility for Parish Council funding applications and low-level trust applications
Devise and manage community fundraising initiatives and campaigns
Work closely with South Hill Park's marketing team in the promotion of all fundraising initiatives
Maintain up to date knowledge of fundraising best practice and tax laws for individual giving, where applicable
Attend occasional staff meetings, training sessions and other events, which may take place outside normal working hours.
