Development Officer, Collections Committees

London, United Kingdom

Job Description

Tate\'s vision is to serve as artistically adventurous and culturally inclusive art museums for the UK and the world. We deliver this through activities in our four galleries across the UK (Tate Liverpool, Tate St Ives, Tate Britain and Tate Modern), our digital platforms and collaborations with our national and international partners.

Within the Development Department, Tate\'s Collection Committees team works with curators and major donors internationally to secure gifts of works of art and cash to grow and strengthen the national collection, and to support the programmes and activities the collection inspires.

As Officer, Collection Committees you will provide organisation and administrative support to the Senior Manager, Collection Committees and the Manager, Collection Committees in order to sustain the activities of Tate\'s Acquisitions Committees, helping to strengthen the gallery\'s international network and realising major new acquisitions.

To achieve this, we are seeking someone with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively, diplomatically and sensitively with people at all levels both internally and externally and with individuals from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. They must have clear and compelling written and verbal communication skills, be proactive and self-motivated with excellent time management skills, including the ability to juggle competing priorities whilst delivering to multiple tight deadlines. They should also have an ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment, to deal with confidential information with absolute discretion and have excellent attention to detail especially when tracking financial information.

Our jobs are like our galleries, open to all
