Job Description

Devon County Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker to join our dedicated Children & Families team. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in our community. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and families.
  • Developing and implementing tailored intervention plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including health, education, and law enforcement, to provide holistic support.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Providing supervision and mentoring to less experienced social workers and students.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and family support services.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with a proven ability to make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working in partnership with families and other agencies.
