Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for streamlining software development, deployment, and infrastructure management processes across cloud and on-premises environments. This role involves implementing automation, ensuring system reliability, and supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines to optimise operational efficiency and software quality. The ideal applicant will possess extensive experience with cloud computing platforms, containerisation, scripting, and system administration, contributing to the organisation's digital transformation initiatives.

Core Responsibilities



CI/CD Pipeline Management:

Designing and maintaining automated Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

Provisioning and managing cloud resources (AWS, Azure, or GCP) programmatically using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to ensure consistency across environments.

Container Orchestration:

Deploying and scaling microservices using Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for management.

Observability & Monitoring:

Implementing real-time monitoring and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to track system health and respond to incidents.

Security (DevSecOps):

Integrating security checks, vulnerability scanning, and secret management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault) directly into the automatedpipeline.

Collaboration:

Acting as the "connective tissue" between developers, QA, and operations teams to resolve bottlenecks and optimize delivery speed.

Requirements



Proven experience in DevOps roles with a strong background in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Extensive knowledge of containerisation (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure as code (Terraform), configuration management (Ansible/Puppet/Chef). Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash (Unix shell), Groovy, Perl, Ruby or Python; experience with Shell Scripting is essential. Hands-on experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of system administration on Linux (CentOS/Unix) and Windows Server environments. Familiarity with web servers (NGINX), application servers (Weblogic/JBoss/WebSphere), and RESTful API development. Knowledge of databases including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server; experience with database optimisation is desirable. Experience managing distributed systems with knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols including TCP/UDP/WAN/LAN configurations. Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues related to debugging and system testing; familiarity with incident response procedures is preferred. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer are advantageous but not mandatory. Pay: 35,036.77-42,000.00 per year
