Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of both development and operations, enabling them to bridge the gap between software engineering and IT operations. This role is pivotal in enhancing our deployment processes, ensuring system reliability, and improving the overall efficiency of our development lifecycle.

Duties

Collaborate with software developers and IT staff to oversee code releases and manage deployment processes. Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Utilise cloud computing services to enhance scalability and performance. Conduct release management activities to ensure smooth transitions from development to production environments. Gather requirements effectively to align operational needs with development goals. Provide technical support for applications, addressing issues promptly to minimise downtime. Work within an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions. Develop scripts using PowerShell or C# for automation of routine tasks. Maintain system integrity on UNIX platforms, ensuring optimal performance and security.

Requirements

Proven experience in release management and cloud computing environments. Strong knowledge of UNIX systems and their administration. Familiarity with Scrum methodologies and Agile practices. Experience in requirements gathering for software development projects. Proficiency in programming languages such as C# is advantageous. Knowledge of automation tools like Ant is preferred. Ability to write scripts in PowerShell for task automation. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on providing technical support.
