We have an exciting opportunity for a

DevOps Engineer

to join our Digital Tribe to work in a squad to support platforms, tooling and applications both in delivery and production. This will be primarily working with on-premise hosted platforms. The Digital tribe is working on re-engineering from a monolithic customer facing application to a modular Digital platform already 2 years in flight and well progressed. This is not just migration but adding improved UX and customer experience togethers with integrations to new 3rd party capabilities.


This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from home plus some time in our central Leeds office. You would also be part of our 24/ 7 call-out rota (approx. 1 week out of 4).

About the role





As

DevOps Engineer

, you will be a hands-on Engineer either from a Development or Platform engineering background. Your work will be driven both by product feature squads but also engineering team backlogs of improvements and tech debt. Work includes -

Automating deployments through CI/CD pipelines across the environments and platforms. Working on Monitoring and alerting solutions Assisting with diagnosing issues with non-production and production, seeing the bigger picture and working to coordinate across various teams and disciplines (Dev, Test, networks, infrastructure, 3rd parties) Being part of the on-call rota as first line callout supported by development engineers in 2nd line Automating manual tasks and processes, ensuring configuration as code is put in place DevSecOps: automate and integrate security testing and scanning products/processes into the CI/CD pipeline

About you





You'll be experienced either in a Development role or a Platform Engineering role, most importantly you will have the mindset and hunger to drive your learning and move across the wide range of skills needed.



What will you bring to the role?


Experience of technical skills in

some of

the following


+ Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Pipelines tools such as Jenkins and Gitlab CI/CD
+ Configuration, monitoring, capacity management and support of container platforms - Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift
+ Modern monitoring skills and best practices using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
+ Scripting and automation capabilities (e.g., Python, bash)
+ Security (OWASP, Security code, container scanning, password vaults) tools such as Checkmarx, Jfrog Artifactory/Xray, Clair/Klar, CyberArk
+ Knowledge of networks and routing
Experience of working within IT support systems A track record of continuous improvement including challenging and developing both yourself and the team
