Working within the DevOps team provide the software configuration management, build management and engineering tools management to project teams within the Cyber UK Business Unit.
Role Summary
The role, in conjunction with the DevOps / Configuration Manager and the DevOps team, involves working with multiple project teams, each team potentially using different technologies and ranging in size from 2 to 40 engineers spread across several sites. The incumbent will provide robust configuration management and build solutions to multiple (software / firmware) projects within the Cyber UK Business Unit, delivering multiple concurrent research, development and production programmes.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop (from a design) and maintain the continuous integration (CI) pipelines, ensuring that they are operational, fit for purpose and delivering the required outputs for the project team.
Suggest and implement minor improvements to the CI pipelines.
Be the primary interface to the project for DevOps, understanding the project's requirements and development processes.
Perform regular monitoring of the DevOps environment, using dashboards, respond to events that require further analysis and potential remediation.
Conduct appropriate independent research regarding the evolution of the DevOps environment, feeding back suggestions to the other members of the DevOps team.
Execute tests within a protype environment for the proving of a proposed change to the DevOps environment, working with the Senior DevOps Engineer to agree the tests and processes to evaluate.
