We're looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to support the deployment, configuration, and optimisation of our application environments and CI/CD pipelines. You'll work closely with development, QA, platform, and support teams to ensure reliable and secure software delivery, with a focus on automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement.



Key Responsibilities


Deploy and configure .NET and other web applications across development, test, and production environments. Manage SQL Server databases, including backups, permissions, and script deployment. Provision and maintain virtual servers (VMware), including system monitoring and performance tuning. Install and configure enterprise software such as Microsoft BizTalk, Dynamics CRM, and Pega. Maintain up-to-date documentation for installations, deployments, and environment changes. Administer user and service accounts using Active Directory. Monitor infrastructure health and ensure system integrity across environments. Support disaster recovery planning and testing. Participate in out-of-hours deployments when required. Identify and implement automation opportunities for routine processes. Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with engineering teams to embed DevOps best practices. Promote a culture of collaboration and continual service improvement. Contribute to DevOps governance, standards, and training. Participate in monthly DevOps Community of Practice forums.

Essential Skills:


Experience in deploying and configuring enterprise applications Background in software development, testing, or support Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills Proficiency with: + Windows Server and SQL Server Management Studio
+ IIS, Apache Tomcat
+ Virtualisation (VMware)
+ Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, AWS CI/CD tools
+ TeamCity, OctopusDeploy, Terraform, Ansible
+ Docker, Kubernetes, Minikube
+ PowerShell scripting
+ Cloud fundamentals (Azure and AWS)
+ CI/CD pipelines, including SAST/SCA code analysis

Desirable:


Experience with third-party software vendors and support Familiarity with the insurance sector Knowledge of: + Microsoft Dynamics, PowerApps, Salesforce
+ Guidewire (PC/BC/CC), BizTalk, NewGen

Exposure to systems administration and application support Experience driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives
