An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Nurse to join our dynamic, forward thinking diabetes team. Supported by the Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurses and Diabetes Nurse Consultant, you will be working with the wider diabetes multidisciplinary team to provide specialist diabetes support, advice and education for patients with type 1 and complex type 2 diabetes as well as other healthcare professionals. We are seeking a nurse who has a positive approach and is committed to making a difference. You will need to demonstrate a keenness to work in the field of diabetes, effective communication and teamwork. Experience of supporting patients and carers with diabetes management would be an advantage but not essential as training and development in role can be provided.
This role will be based cross site between Worthing Hospital and St Richard's Hospital , Chichester.
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (25000), and any role-specific criteria.
The post holder will provide specialist care to people with diabetes in the adult setting. Although, the predominant focus will be on assessing, implementing and evaluating care in the inpatient setting, the post holder will provide specialist advice where required to patients, carers and other members of the multidisciplinary team through our telephone / email helpline and also to people with diabetes requiring specialist podiatry intervention within our hospital podiatry clinic. Linked with this the post holder will provide on-going specialist education and training for patients, carers and staff around management of diabetes as well as promote self-management strategies and provide opportunities for health promotion.
The post holder will contribute to the implementation of evidence based practice in line with national and local diabetes strategies and guidelines and will be given the opportunity to support service development or audit projects within the department.
