Are you seeking an opportunity to develop clinical skills in a rewarding role?



Join us at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT) to train as a qualified Dietitian and gain a BSc Dietetics degree while you work.



The Dietetic Apprenticeship combines clinical employment, work-based and academic learning. It's a fully funded route to becoming an HCPC-registered Dietitian.



As an OHFT employee, you'll embody our values and, once registered, be supported to apply for Band 5 vacancies within the Trust.



You'll be employed as an Apprentice Dietitian and given dedicated study time. The apprenticeship is aligned with Sheffield Hallam University and taught remotely.



You'll gain skills to thrive in today's evolving healthcare environment. While based in one team, placements will span Oxford Health and external providers.



We have one post available in Oxford, one based with the Adult Community Eating Disorders (ACED) team in Oxford, based at the Warneford Hospital.

Adult Community Eating Disorders (ACED)

Based at Warneford Hospital, the ACED team provides specialist outpatient care across Oxfordshire for adults with eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. The service includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, support workers, and dietitians.



Dietitians play a key role in assessment and treatment, offering evidence-based nutritional interventions tailored to individual needs.



They lead education sessions on the physical effects of eating disorders, facilitate recovery-focused groups, and provide one-to-one support to help patients meet personalised nutritional goals.



They also contribute to service development, quality improvement, and student training, ensuring a holistic, forward-thinking approach to care.

The services offer excellent opportunities for supervision, service development, service evaluation and research, teaching and training. The services are also committed to evidence-based and evidence generating practice and you will have the opportunity to be part of service evaluation and Quality Improvement projects. The post-holder will be expected to assist in clinically related administration and will need to utilise data and research skills for audit and service development.



Entry requirements



Applicants will need to evidence Maths and English GCSE at Grade C (4), or equivalent (such as Functional Skills Level 2). This MUST be completed before enrolment. If applicants are unable to find their certificates, they will need to re-take these qualifications.

Level 3 academic qualification i.e., AS/ A level, access to higher education diploma etc.

International applicants will need to send in their certificates for checking by NARIC for UK equivalency

Students whose first language is not English (where English and Maths qualifications have been taken via a non UK exam board) are normally required to have IELTS >7.0 (with no component

Please note time spent on a student visa does not count towards residency for the purpose of qualifying for apprentice funding. It is not possible for any apprentice to enrol onto the Dietetic Apprenticeship if they are undertaking any academic course at the beginning of the apprenticeship and any other additional courses must be completed by February 2026.



You must be able to travel between sites for placements. A full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are required (adjustments considered under the Equality Act 2010).



Interviews will be held in person at an Oxford Health site on 25 September 2025. We interview jointly with the university--no alternative dates are available.
