Are you interested in working with people aiming to improve their health and lifestyle or considering bariatric surgery?
We are looking to recruit a person with an interest in nutrition and health to join our weight management team.
You will be trained and supported by qualified Dietitians to meet competencies to be able to work independently with the weight management programme and undertake groups both face to face and virtual, and one to one education when required.
Experience in healthcare and nutrition are preferable, but not essential as training will be provided. You will be expected to complete a Certificate in Nutritional Health as part of the role (if this qualification or equivalent has not already been achieved).
There may be a requirement to travel to various locations across Sunderland and Washington so you must have the ability to travel.

Main duties of the job
You have an interest in weight management and nutrition with a friendly, caring attitude. This role will require you to be a team player due to nature of team in delivering weight management groups.
Experience of working with the public, customer service, and independently is essential to the role and desirable would include previous experience working in healthcare setting or as a dietetic support worker working as part of a team. Although not essential, experience of working with groups and/or within weight management would be desirable.
Nutrition & Dietetics sit under the Therapies Directorate within Clinical Support. The Department operates Monday Friday and we do support flexible working if meets needs of Service. This role will sit within the Tier 3 weight management team that consists of a dietetic assistant practitioner, dietetic support workers and a specialist dietitian. The Team are part of the Tier 4 bariatric MDT and link in with many others within Dietetics and the wider MDT. We support clinical supervision and support with additional courses/training days related to the role.

The Dietetic Department of more than 55 staff is managed as one team, but is structured into smaller teams led by Senior Specialist Dietitians.
