This is a newly created role to work with a major UK charity as Digital Analyst. If you are experienced with website and multi channel digital analytics, especially using GA4, this is a fantastic opportunity to take a responsible position with an ambitious team where your work will make a huge difference.
You will have organisation-wide ownership and responsibility for key digital analytics tools, ensuring understanding of donors and audiences, track user journeys and measure the effectiveness of new digital products and services, and fundraising and event campaigns.
You will use insight and analysis from activity across all aspects of digital marketing - website, social media, online fundraising, donations, PPC etc - you will make recommendations on how to use digital marketing to improve audience experience, generate fundraising income and achieve the ambitious goals of the organisation.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
Champion an insight-driven approach to our digital activity, promoting the use of data to inform creative and engaging content
Build and manage effective internal and external stakeholder relationships
Be responsible for the ongoing management and development of all our digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio and Hotjar d. Work in an agile way, testing and learning and experimenting with new approaches
Support the Digital team with their GA4 knowledge - working with them to improve their understanding, skill and confidence in using the platform
Support staff across the organisation by ensuring they have access to the digital analytics they need to monitor their work, including setting up goals and event tracking as required
Create and maintain key analytics dashboards using Looker Studio and any other third-party tools which support the understanding of the data
Work with colleagues to combine insights from your digital data-focused work with other quantitative and qualitative data, to give a clear and detailed understanding of the charity's audience
Make recommendations and identify opportunities across all digital marketing activities including audiences, targeting, messaging, channels, content and journey
Using insight and analysis from previous campaigns, make recommendations about best use of channels and budget, to increase return on investment of campaigns
Lead on ensuring that through a suite of web analytics tools the teams can reliably track and report on key user journeys, customer segments, organisational goals and the testing of new products and services
Responsible for the implementation of social media and other advertising pixels and tags (Facebook, Google and Microsoft Ads)
Setting up A/B and multivariant tests using Google Optimise to improve the website. Analyse and share the results of the test and promote making changes based on the results
Review, audit and fix bugs as appropriate to ensure all web analytics are setup and reporting accurately
Person specification
Proven experience of managing a suite of digital analytics tools in order to support organisational goals, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio and Hotjar.
This should include experience in setting up goals and event tracking to effectively monitor the effectiveness of campaigns
Proven experience of creating and delivering engaging and actionable insight reports and dashboards
Demonstrable track record of successfully using data-led insights to support continuous improvement in a digital context
Demonstrable digital marketing skills including an understanding of Paid Social, PPC, SEO, Email and Web
Analytical mindset and capable of explaining technical concepts in non- technical terms
Ability to take a leadership role when it comes to best practice in digital analytics, including a coaching and mentoring approach with colleagues
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a small team
