Digital Designer Ftc

London, United Kingdom

Job Description

Mid-Level Digital Designer (6 Month FTC)
About Security Blue Team:
With over 150k students across the globe, SBT's certifications are setting the bar for defensive cybersecurity training. We're trusted by hundreds of organisations--including military, government, law enforcement, CERTs, and MSSPs--to train their teams. As a leading cybersecurity training company, we are dedicated to cultivating a new generation of experts and bridging the gap between skill development and industry demands.
About the role:
We're looking for a versatile digital designer who can jump into active platform work and support our design team through an exciting period of development. This is a hands-on, mid-level role ideal for someone who's confident in Figma, comfortable navigating complex interfaces, and happy to collaborate across disciplines when needed.
You'll work closely with our senior designers in a highly collaborative team that partners with every department in the company. While your primary focus will be assisting with UI/UX and product design, you'll also contribute to wider visual design tasks that keep our creative output cohesive and high-quality.
We don't expect you to be an expert in everything - we are a team and you'll have the opportunity to play to your strengths while developing new skills along the way.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of continuing in a permanent role, subject to business needs.
Whilst this is a remote role, we ask that candidates are UK based, with their right to work in UK.
What you'll work on

  • Design intuitive interfaces, components, and user flows for our web platforms and applications
  • Translate requirements, UX considerations, and technical constraints into clear, effective UI solutions
  • Contribute to wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and documentation in Figma
  • Participate in creative ideation, problem-solving, and cross-team discussions
  • Occasionally you might be asked to support the broader design pipeline with tasks such as:
  • Visuals for social media, events, and educational products
  • Graphic assets across digital and print
  • Light branding work for new or evolving products
What you'll definitely need
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your best work, particularly UI/UX (applications without portfolios won't be considered)
  • 2-3+ years in a relevant design role
  • Excellent command of Figma (components, auto-layout, prototyping, design systems)
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, user-centred thinking, and clean, scalable UI design
  • Proficiency with relevant Adobe CC products
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and a willingness to support varied design tasks
  • A desire to learn and make a difference
Nice to have
  • Branding experience
  • Illustration skills (raster/vector, non-AI)
  • Motion graphics, animation, or 3D
  • An interest in cybersecurity (even if you're new to it!)
What we offer:
  • 40,000-45,000 annual salary (pro-rata) depending on experience + up to 10% annual performance-based bonus
  • Remote working with flexible hours
  • 25 days of annual leave pro-rata (plus local bank holidays, Christmas closure, and your birthday off)
  • Pension contributions
  • Growth opportunities
  • Optional access to our central London office
  • A unique company culture with in-person and virtual socials
SBT's mission is to provide the hands-on, practical cybersecurity training that professionals need to advance their careers and bring the most value to their teams.
