Description
As a Digital Forensics Examiner within Apple Information Security, you will play a key role in conducting and supporting investigations that protect our people and organization. You will perform detailed forensic analysis across macOS, iOS, and Windows platforms, managing the full lifecycle of each case, from evidence acquisition and validation through to analysis and reporting. This role requires a meticulous approach to evidence handling and documentation, ensuring full compliance with chain-of-custody standards and legal requirements. Collaboration is central to the role. You will work closely with global peers, investigators, and internal business partners to uncover facts, provide clear and defensible findings, and support informed decision-making in complex, sensitive cases. Your ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences will be essential to your success.
Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic analysis of digital evidence across multiple platforms.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of forensic investigations, from evidence acquisition to reporting findings.
  • Ensure strict adherence to evidence handling and chain of custody procedures.
  • Collaborate with global teams and internal business partners to support complex investigations.
  • Present findings and technical reports in clear, concise language to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience in digital forensic investigations.
  • Expertise in filesystem analysis across one or more operating systems: macOS, Windows, iOS.
  • Proficiency with industry standard forensics methodologies, tools, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and communicating findings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior law enforcement / intelligence experience.
  • Technical certifications such as CFCE, GCFE, GASF, GIME, (College of Policing: Core Skills in Data Recovery & Analysis and / or Core Skills in Mobile Phone Forensics), or similar are a plus.
  • A curious, investigative mindset, with the ability to learn new technologies.
  • Experience conducting research in digital forensics and a desire to contribute to the development of new investigative techniques or forensic methodologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, or relevant work experience.
