We have an exciting opportunity to join a small, dynamic marketing team that looks after all aspects of our busy B2B ecommerce website.

As one of the UK's largest importers and wholesalers of pound and discount lines, Gem Imports is growing. We are looking for a creative and proactive Digital Marketing Assistant who will play a vital role in keeping our ecommerce site operating at an optimum level, while also helping to grow our digital presence with fresh ideas and engaging content.

The Digital Marketing Assistant will support website content, email marketing, and social media activity, contributing to how customers experience the Gem Imports brand online through visual assets, product management, and written content that drives acquisition and engagement.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables



Website Content & Product Management



? Support the writing and uploading of product descriptions for new products using our ecommerce platform (Etail).

? Assist with ongoing product updates, including attributes, pricing, and availability via the ecommerce CMS.

? Help respond to internal website-related queries and requests.

? Liaise with the graphic design team to request and implement imagery for the website.

? Assist in monitoring website performance and user experience, flagging issues and opportunities.

? Support SEO best practices through content updates and optimisation.

Content Creation & Digital Marketing



? Support the creation of engaging written and visual content for the website, social media, and email newsletters.

? Assist in developing content that aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.

? Conduct basic market and competitor research to identify trends and content ideas.

? Contribute creative ideas to digital marketing initiatives and content planning.

Marketing Campaign Support



? Assist in the planning, development, and delivery of digital marketing campaigns.

? Support coordination with internal teams and external partners where required.

? Help monitor campaign performance and contribute ideas for improvement.

Social Media



? Support the day-to-day management of social media channels (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook).

? Schedule posts, monitor engagement, and assist with content calendars.

? Help support social media activity aimed at increasing brand awareness and engagement.

Email Marketing



? Assist in building and sending email campaigns using marketing automation tools.

? Help maintain mailing lists and support segmentation and targeting.

? Support campaign planning to drive customer engagement and sales.

Analytics, Reporting & Team Support



? Assist in tracking and analysing marketing performance using analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).

? Help prepare reports highlighting key insights and trends.

? Work closely with the Head of Ecommerce and wider team to support marketing objectives.

? Provide general administrative support to the marketing team, including coordinating tasks and helping ensure deadlines are met.

Skills & Experience



Essential



? A strong interest in digital marketing, with either:

? Some practical marketing experience (e.g. work experience, placement, internship, part-time role),

or



? Currently studying, or recently graduated in, Marketing or a related subject, with relevant work experience.

? Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write clear, engaging content.

? Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.

? Basic understanding of digital marketing channels, such as websites, social media, email, or ecommerce.

? Willingness to learn, take feedback, and develop new skills.

? Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise deadlines effectively.

Desirable (but not essential)



? Experience using ecommerce platforms, content management systems, or website admin tools.

? Familiarity with social media platforms for business (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).

? Basic knowledge of SEO, email marketing, or analytics.

? Experience using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

? Experience using email marketing or analytics platforms (e.g. Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Google Analytics).
