Salary:

8730 per Anum (12 per hour - under 21, 12.21 per hour over 21) 2 Days a week, 8-hour shifts.

Trial Period:

4 weeks (8 days)

About us:

Blackpool Reptiles & Aquatics LTD has been trading since September 2018 at our town centre location in Blackpool. We now have a large website displaying our dry goods, live and frozen foods for sale available for delivery, and all of our animals which are available for delivery via reptile courier.

Our shop has been designed by us following new Animal Welfare guidelines for pet shops and we are proud to have received the highest rating possible for our new store. Blackpool Reptiles & Aquatics is home to some of the most exciting reptiles in the country, stocking livestock which is unavailable to buy elsewhere, and displaying 100's of species of Reptile and Aquatic Livestock.

Person specification:

Blackpool Reptiles & Aquatics is looking to expand our team in our web and social media team. Are you a regular Facebook/TikTok/Instagram user that knows how to create engaging posts for B2C marketing? The ideal candidate would be a student who has just completed or is currently working towards a marketing qualification. University students will also be considered. You must be available to work Wednesday and Friday initially from 9am to 5pm. As this is a new role, we may require more or less time from you depending on developments of the role over time.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic, and punctual person who can manage their own timescale under instruction. The ideal candidate will have experience in taking photos on an iPhone, editing on apps, and uploading/scheduling posts on platforms. They must understand hash tagging, image orientation and ratio depending on the social network, and ideal posting times to receive the most views. The images and videos that will be captured must be of a high quality so that they can be directly upoaded to our website and platforms.

Some of our content will be based around our daily tasks such as capturing one of our staff cleaning or feeding an animal. The candidate should be able to recognise when to capture this content and capture it independently.

The candidate should have a good level of spelling, grammar, and error checking and should be familiar with photo editing apps either for the phone, PC, or both. They should be able to independently upload and edit content. They should be able to work in line with a social media plan.

Photos and videos should be captured in a timely manner, with care being taken to frame the media correctly, e.g., removing items from the background/tidying up general space prior to capturing media.

The candidate will be required to create monthly reports/presentations which show the impact of the content posted on platforms. Over time we expect the candidate to be able to show a positive correlation between posting and content, and increased sales. There should be evidence of direct results. The first report should be created at the end of your first month with us and should show the progress you have made.

We are an organic company! Meaning we do not pay for advertising. All our growth is organic, and we expect the candidate to be able to continue growth in this manner. There will not be a budget available for paid marketing strategies. You will also be required to create publisher files for our point of sale on our animals and digital platforms.

There will not be any animal maintenance tasks required in this role.

This role is completely focused on our media marketing, and there will not be opportunities to handle the animals unless this is required by the task in hand.
