How would you like to help shape the digital engine behind the UK's largest escorted coach tour operator? At Leger Shearings Group, we turn inspiration into itineraries and browsers into travellers - across self-drive breaks, UK & European holidays, specialist Battlefield Tours and more, delivered by our family of trusted brands.
Since the acquisition of Shearings (July 2020), we've expanded our reach and accelerated our shift from traditional channels into scaled digital performance. With strong momentum and ambitious growth plans, this is an exciting time to join and make a visible impact.
The role in a snapshot
We're looking for a results driven Digital Marketing Lead who can own, optimise and scale our digital performance across paid and owned channels through our external agency partners. This is not an in-platform execution role; you'll set strategy, shape briefs, define budgets and KPIs, hold partners accountable, and turn data into decisions that grow bookings and brand preference. You'll report to the Marketing Manager and collaborate closely with a smart, supportive team that loves to ship, learn and improve. If you enjoy taking accountability, moving quickly and making performance sing, you'll feel right at home.
Office-based collaboration
This role is fully office-based at our Rotherham Head Office (S60 2XR), where collaboration and creativity drive results. As Digital Marketing Lead, you'll work closely with copywriters, designers, and channel specialists to shape and deliver campaigns across paid, organic, and CRM channels. Being on-site means faster feedback, real-time problem solving, and the ability to lead from the front--ensuring strategies turn into measurable outcomes quickly. If you thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and enjoy working face-to-face with a talented team to deliver impactful digital marketing, this is the role for you.
What you'll do
Lead digital strategy & planning across PPC, Paid Social, Display, SEO and CRM - executed by specialist agencies - aligned to commercial targets and seasonal trading priorities.
Own agency performance for PPC, Paid Social, Display and SEO: set clear briefs and hypotheses, agree tests and KPIs, approve plans, challenge recommendations, and run weekly performance reviews to ensure continuous optimisation.
Project manage end to end campaigns: coordinate internal briefs, assets and timelines; ensure accurate tracking, QA and on time go lives with agency partners.
Oversee channel mix and budgets: pace spend, reallocate to winners, and ensure each channel contributes to acquisition, retention and lifetime value.
Drive email & CRM excellence: plan lifecycle journeys, campaigns and segmentation with the internal team (and partners where applicable) to improve conversion and repeat bookings.
Champion data led optimisation: use analytics to spot opportunities, test hypotheses, and scale what works; ensure robust UTM/taxonomies and meaningful dashboards.
Elevate content for search: guide on site improvements and content direction to support SEO health and ranking growth in partnership with our SEO agency.
Measure what matters: own reporting cadence and narrative versus KPIs; translate insights into clear actions for agencies and internal stakeholders.
Keep us competitive: track market activity, surface learnings, and propose smart, testable improvements to stay ahead.
Build compelling creative with the wider team: brief performance ready assets and iterate based on learnings from agencies and analytics.
What you'll bring
At least 3 years' experience in a UK based professional digital marketing role (agency or in house), with a track record of managing external agencies to deliver performance.
Strong stakeholder & vendor management: confident setting briefs, aligning on KPIs, and constructively challenging plans to improve outcomes.
Working knowledge of key platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4) sufficient to interrogate reports, ask the right questions, and validate results - without needing to "push the buttons" daily.
Proven campaign tracking & reporting: comfortable setting targets, reading the numbers and acting on them.
Scientific approach to optimisation: test and learn mindset, audience and creative iteration, and smart budget reallocation.
Solid grasp of SEO principles and how content, structure and technical health impact rankings (delivered via agency).
Clear, confident communication: able to brief agencies, collaborate with colleagues, and present performance succinctly.
Strong time and project management: calm under pressure, great at prioritising and hitting tight deadlines.
