This is an exciting new role within the Podiatry Department. We are introducing a new process for insole manufacture which is more environmentally sustainable and innovative. We welcome applications from anyone who has experience of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing.
Development & progression are important within our Podiatry Service in Gloucestershire. Training will be provided in use of our CAD software, 3D printers and our overall manufacturing process.

In this role you will be responsible for daily operation of the podiatry orthotics manufacturing laboratories within Gloucester and Cheltenham which will include:
designing and manufacturing simple and complex orthotics following the required prescription requests using CAD systems, 3D printers and manual alteration/manufacture
ordering, supplying and dispensing stock to clinical sites
maintenance and upkeep of the 3D printers and manufacturing sites
Excellent communication is essential in this role as this will facilitate close & productive working with colleagues within Podiatry and other services who may be involved in a patient's care.
As a Digital Orthotic Technician within Gloucestershire Podiatry Service, you will be expected to work with the Specialist Community Podiatrist Team providing high quality care.
You will be responsible for the design and manufacture of bespoke and off the shelf orthotic foot devices, managing material stock levels, supporting in the overseeing of production and manufacture over our laboratories in Gloucester and Cheltenham.

As a Digital Technician with Gloucestershire Podiatry Service, you will work autonomously within the Podiatry laboratory as well as nominated clinical locations around the county and will be accountable to the Locality Lead. You will be responsible for the manufacture of complex foot orthoses using 3D printer technology, manufacture of and adjustment of simple insoles and overseeing the workflow through the laboratory.
Working with the Locality and Clinical Leads you will be responsible for the manufacture of bespoke insoles using a 3D printer. There will be a requirement to translate the insole prescription into the Computer Aided Design (CAD) programme and upload for printing.
