Job Description

Key Responsibilities:




Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data platforms and pipelines. Enable data scientists by providing robust data products and data catalogs. Implement cloud-based data solutions using AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, and similar technologies. Manage and secure sensitive data and PII, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill data requirements. Drive the modernisation of tech platforms and promote data-driven decision-making. Mentor and lead a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Required Skills and Experience:




Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or a related role, with leadership experience. Extensive experience with AWS data platform tools, Snowflake, and Databricks. Strong expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data architectures. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL. Familiarity with data security best practices and compliance regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex datasets. Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams. Experience with data-driven AI/ML projects is a plus. Use of AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Windsurf, co-pilot etc) to enhance engineering productivity

Preferred Skills:




Experience with real-time data processing and streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka. Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake architectures. Familiarity with governance frameworks for data management and security. Knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and LLM frameworks (e.g., Langchain).
