What You'll Do
As the Director of Engineering for the Data Platform, you will lead and scale high-performing engineering teams responsible for the architecture, development, and operation of Mimecast's core data infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in enabling secure, scalable, and reliable data services that power our cybersecurity products and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the vision and roadmap for Mimecast's data platform, ensuring alignment with business and product goals Team Management: Build, mentor, and inspire diverse engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Large Scale Project Deliverables: As director for the data platform you will be responsible for project deliverables from your teams across products. Technical Excellence: Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data architectures, pipelines, and storage solutions to support advanced analytics, ML, and product features. Collaboration: Partner with Product, Security, and ML teams to deliver customer-focused solutions that address evolving cybersecurity threats. Operational Excellence: Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data services, leveraging best practices in DevOps and SRE. Innovation: Drive adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies to keep Mimecast at the cutting edge of data engineering and cybersecurity. Compliance & Governance: Champion data privacy, compliance, and governance across all data platform initiatives. Monitor, Analyze and Enhance Production Environments: working with senior management and engineer teams to provide recommendations for efficiency, cost savings and budgets.

What You'll Bring:Successful track record of project leadership, including planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects with predictability. Strong technical background in software engineering, with hands-on experience in designing and developing backend services at scale within AWS. Strong technical background in Big Data services and complexities associated with efficiency at scale. Experience in building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, including recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing talent development. Experience in establishing and enforcing coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes to maintain high-quality software development. Strong communication skills with experience in effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The base salary range for this position is 120,000 - 180,000 base + benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for incentive plans and other related benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered.
